meals on me....

You Are an Excellent Cook

You're a top cook, but you weren't born that way. It's taken a lot of practice, a lot of experimenting, and a lot of learning.
It's likely that you have what it takes to be a top chef, should you have the desire...

happy holidays....

Nerd is the Word
Congratulations! You scored 58!
Your'd a bit of a dork, aren't you? It's okay, it can be a proud thing to be. You can hold your own at conventions and comic book shows. But you keep yourself limited to the occasional reruns and how you USED to play D&D, a long time ago. That's a nice place to be!

http://www.thomas-allen.com/ThomasAllenPublishers/catalogue/0-88762-228-3.htm

very rarely do i ever actively promote the purchasing of ANYTHING....in this case however....i must make an exception....TOWARDS A CANADA OF LIGHT by B. W. Powe....

and if i were any kinda proficient at this....i would even post a copy of the book cover....but, alas....i suck....so just go check it out....and be the first on your block to own it!!!

some comments about the piece:

“Gloriously poetic. . . . Read aloud to anyone you love.” - Vancouver Sun

“. . . a soaring alchemical vision. When I read the first few pages of A Canada of Light I had to put the book down to catch my breath . . .” - Pico Iyer, author of Cuba and the Night and The Global Soul

“Powe has discovered the roots of an informal Canadian democracy and shows us its poetry and wonder.” - The Toronto Star

“As B.W. Powe writes in his rousing [book], our nebulous identity may turn out to be a source of strength in the world of global communications.” – Toronto Life

“Highly original . . . It makes you dream about Canada.” - The Financial Post
“A new vision of Canada, freed of borders and race.” - John Ralston Saul

“Gloriously poetic…. Read aloud to anyone you love.” - The Victoria Sun

“An innovative view… a challenging meditation.” – The Edmonton Journal
“Mr. Powe opens up avenues of thought and feeling…He offers a vision of Canada that is positive and based on shared values.” – The Globe and Mail

“At a time when Canadian politicians are singularly lacking in vision, Powe seems to have it in spades.” – The Montreal Gazette

“A brilliant exercise in fine and sensitive essay writing…a call to the awakening of the Canadian soul.” – Larry Zolf

“B.W. Powe’s short book is absolutely tonic, fairly bursting with valuable ‘cultural meditations.’ Every country needs such a voice―prophetic, politically unlabelable, alert to a wide-range of cultural concerns.” – Donald Pearce, University of California, Santa Barbara

“Passionately committed…Powe embraces the noisy, interminable communication, discommunication and miscommunication of Canadian politics, and sees here a global model for nations-in-becoming…This book speaks of communications technology can enable nation-building. More importantly, the writing conveys the depth of passion required to do the job.” – The Whole Earth Review

7. nerf footballs - playing tackle during lunch and recess in the schoolyard....especially when buried in snow....was awesome....diving into the snowbanks for any reason whatsoever was equally awesome!

8. kites - unlike today's versions....getting those suckers airborne took an equal amount of skill and patience

9. hockey stick guns - made with rubber bands, clothespins, hockey tape and a beaten up hockey stick....i was completely convinced that those things could kill!

10. table-top hockey - bring it on suckas....he he
